At Our Lady of the Assumption School, we know that a smooth start and end to each school day helps set students up for success. To ensure the safety of all children and families, we ask everyone to follow the arrival, dismissal, and parking procedures outlined below. Your cooperation helps create an organized, efficient, and welcoming environment for our entire school community.

School Hours

Main building students should arrive at the back cafeteria doors within their designated arrival window and proceed directly to their assigned location. SFC students should arrive at the SFC main doors and proceed directly to their assigned location. Faculty and staff are present to assist students and ensure a safe start to the school day.

Arrival Procedures
The safety of our students is our highest priority during morning drop-off.

Please follow these guidelines:
  • Enter the drop-off line by pulling into the driveway located on the left side of the school next to the white house.
  • Pull forward as far as possible before allowing students to exit the vehicle.
  • Have students ready to exit quickly with backpacks, water bottles, lunchboxes, and all necessary belongings.
  • Remain in your vehicle during drop-off unless otherwise directed by school personnel.
  • Follow all instructions provided by faculty and staff.
  • Students arriving after 7:55 AM are considered tardy. A parent or guardian must accompany the student to the Main Entrance and sign them in at the school office.

Dismissal Procedures
Faculty and staff supervise students throughout dismissal to ensure they are safely reunited with their families or dismissed according to their approved transportation arrangements.

Please note the following dismissal locations:
  • Saint Francis Center students will be dismissed from the SFC Entrance between 2:10 PM and 2:15 PM and will be escorted outside by their teachers.
  • Grades 1–4 and older siblings will be dismissed at 2:35 PM from the back parking lot.
  • Grades 5–8 students will be dismissed at 2:50 PM from the front parking lot (across the street from the Main building).

To help dismissal run smoothly:
  • Proceed directly to your vehicle after picking up your child.
  • Follow all directions from faculty and staff members.
  • Pull forward completely before loading students into your vehicle.
  • Avoid blocking traffic lanes or creating congestion.
  • Notify the School Office of any changes to your child's dismissal plans before the end of the school day.

Please Note: Parking on Grove Street is not permitted during arrival or dismissal times.

Parking Lot Rules & Etiquette
Our parking lots are among the busiest areas of campus. The cooperation and courtesy of all families are essential to keeping students safe and traffic flowing efficiently.

Please Remember:
  • Drive slowly and cautiously at all times.
  • Put away cell phones and eliminate distractions while driving on school property.
  • Remain attentive to faculty and staff directing traffic.
  • Do not pass other vehicles in the drop-off or pickup lines.
  • Do not leave your vehicle unattended in active arrival or dismissal lanes.
  • Park only in designated parking areas.
  • Be patient, respectful, and courteous to fellow families, faculty, and staff.

By working together and following these procedures, we can provide a safe, welcoming, and efficient experience for every OLA family each day.
