Anti-Bullying Policy

At Our Lady of the Assumption School, every child deserves to feel safe, respected, and valued. We are committed to providing a school environment rooted in kindness, dignity, and Catholic values—one where students can learn, grow, and build friendships without fear of bullying, harassment, or retaliation.

We believe that creating a safe and healthy school community is a shared responsibility among students, families, faculty, and staff. OLA promotes mutual respect, empathy, acceptance, and responsible behavior both in and out of the classroom. We want every student to know they belong here, that their voice matters, and that concerns will be taken seriously.

Our Commitment to Prevention
Bullying prevention at OLA begins with the culture we work to build each day. Through clear expectations for student behavior, strong adult supervision, faith-based values, and ongoing conversations about kindness and respect, we help students understand how to treat one another with compassion and integrity.

Students are taught that bullying, cyberbullying, and retaliation are not acceptable at OLA. From the earliest grades, we encourage students to speak up if they feel unsafe, if they witness unkind behavior, or if they are concerned about a classmate. Our goal is not only to respond when problems arise, but to proactively foster a school environment where every child feels known, supported, and protected.

Reporting a Concern
If a student experiences bullying, cyberbullying, or retaliation—or if a parent, staff member, or student becomes aware of a concern—we strongly encourage that it be reported promptly to school leadership or a trusted faculty member.

All reports are taken seriously and handled with care. When a concern is brought forward, the school will review the matter, investigate appropriately, communicate with families as needed, and take action in accordance with the school’s Bullying Prevention and Intervention Plan. OLA is committed to responding thoughtfully, protecting student well-being, and working to prevent further harm.

Bullying Prevention & Intervention Plan
We encourage all parents and guardians to review OLA’s Bullying Prevention and Intervention Plan with their child so that students understand what bullying is, why it is harmful, and how to seek help if needed.
